Plagiarism Prevention Policy

The International Journal of English Language Studies (IJELS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. The journal follows a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and ensures that all submissions undergo thorough screening prior to editorial evaluation.

All manuscripts are checked using reliable plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin and iThenticate. Plagiarism includes direct copying, improper paraphrasing, self-plagiarism, redundant publication, and unacknowledged use of ideas, data, or visual content.

  • Overall similarity must be ≤ 10–15% (excluding references)
  • Single source similarity must be ≤ 5%
  • All borrowed content must be properly cited
  • Reuse of published material must be disclosed
Manuscripts exceeding acceptable limits may be rejected or returned for revision. Severe violations may result in submission bans or institutional notification.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure Policy

IJELS ensures transparency and fairness in the publication process. All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may influence research outcomes or editorial decisions.

Conflicts may arise from financial support, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, or competing academic interests.

  • Funding sources and sponsorships
  • Institutional or organizational affiliations
  • Consultancy roles or intellectual property interests
  • Personal or professional relationships

Authors must include a declaration in the manuscript. If none exist, state: "The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest."

Undisclosed conflicts may lead to rejection, correction, or retraction of the article.

AI-Generated Content Policy

IJELS acknowledges the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic writing. While AI may assist in improving language quality, it must not replace the intellectual contribution of the author.

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors
  • AI cannot generate core research content or conclusions
  • Authors must verify accuracy and originality
  • Significant AI usage must be disclosed

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that AI-assisted content is accurate, reliable, and ethically compliant.

Manuscripts with excessive or undisclosed AI-generated content may be rejected.
